![]() WrestleMania's one-player mode has the player choose one of eight wrestlers – Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Doink the Clown, and Lex Luger. There are other similarities to the Mortal Kombat games, such as uppercuts that cause the opponent to go sky high, flawless victories and very tongue-in-cheek character animations. While actual wrestling moves are present, matches consist primarily of strike attacks and special moves. Examples include Doink the Clown pulling out a mallet out of thin air, Razor Ramon's arm transforming into a blade, or Bam Bam Bigelow's fists catching on fire. What separates this game from previous and future WWF/WWE video games is its over the top and very cartoonish attacks. Commentary is provided by Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler, who also appear in the game sitting at the announcers' table to the right of the ring.Īcclaim, who published the console versions of the game, developed a follow-up, WWF in Your House for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and DOS.ĭespite being based on professional wrestling, WrestleMania's digitized graphics and fast-paced gameplay make it more of a fighting game than a Sports/wrestling game inspired by Midway's popular Mortal Kombat series. The game featured digitized representations of eight WWF performers who are pitted against each other in fast-paced matches inspired by Midway's Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam games. It is based on the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) professional wrestling promotion. WWF WrestleMania (also known on console versions as WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game) is a professional wrestling arcade game released by Midway Manufacturing Co. Michael Archer, Joseph Mazziotto, Carol Caracciolo. This game can be played also in a version for SNES. But as it is, and always has been, it's still the best wrestling simulation game of the 16bit era.If you think that the game in your browser does not behave as it should, try to choose another online emulator from this table. The only way this game could've been better was more wrestlers and more modes. This game is also the inspiration to the popular mobile game Wrestling Revolution by Matt Dickie. Both the Sega and Snes version had exclusive wrestlers to the ones not found on both. I just wish the SNES version had the immortal Hulk Hogan in it. The sound was great, moves easy to do, tho I highly recommend a turbo/auto fire controller pad. This is the best wrestling game on the SNES imo next to Wrestlmania The Arcade. the next version RAW changed the moves around a bit and added some new moves but it wasnt as fun as this version. ![]() Every charactor pretty much was the same with a different look, but all had the same moves apart from the finisher move.but it was great fun. The game was a lot of fun, there was one on one, tag team, survivor series (4 on 4 tag) and royal rumble. The hardest is Lex Lugers, you have to whip him into the rope and run into the rope yourself and hit that R button when they're close enough to elbow them in the face. ![]() For example The Undertaker had to do it in a grapple to do the Tombstone Piledriver and guys like Bret Hart and Ric Flair had to do them on the ground at the feet. All the specials where preformed by using the shoulder R button, but it depended on where you where situated. This game however worked pretty much the same way, but you had special moves, and a carrer mode, or Royal Rumble to choose from. It was like it's predoecsser "WWF Wresltemania (1991) in the graphics department, but the last game had little options and no career modes at all and the Sega version was the only one to have finishing moves. I owned the SNES and was absolutly gutted that Hulk Hogan was only found on the Sega version. It was released in 1993 on the SNES and Sega Genises/Megadrive. I loved this game when it was the best a wrestling game could be in it's day.
